We got tired of the showrooms too.
Room after room of overpriced sideboards that were either flat-pack flimsy or so small they'd disappear against a wall — never quite fitting the space, never quite worth the price tag. So we started building them properly instead.
No two rooms are the same, so we stopped pretending furniture should come in three fixed sizes and a choice of two colours. Every Panelworks bespoke piece starts with a conversation about your space — the awkward alcove, the too-narrow hallway, the wall that's just slightly wider than anything on the shop floor — and is built from there, not the other way round.
We work in premium textured laminate, not because it's cheaper to fake, but because it's genuinely better suited to real life. Hard-wearing, wipe-clean, and finished with the depth and texture of a high-end piece — it's furniture that's built to survive family life, not just look good in a showroom for a season.
Based in Clitheroe, Lancashire, we build for customers across the Ribble Valley and the wider North West — sideboards, media walls and cabinetry, all made to measure, all made to last.

This one pairs a rich Cleaf Penlope Maya Bronze textured door front with Egger Natural Hickory — a realistic grain-effect finish with a deep, tactile texture — set on sleek black industrial-style tapered legs. The bronze has real depth up close, the kind that photographs well but feels even better in the room.
